Armenian Platform for Sustainable Agriculture (APSA) is an initiative launched in January 2009 by the
The basic objective of the Platform is collecting and developing knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices and sharing it with agricultural input providers, food processors, extension specialists, researchers, government, international organizations, NGOs, consumers, and other stakeholders. It includes also adaptation of the worldwide practices for particular local Armenian situations.
Sub-committees have been established within the APSA initiative to closely work with Food chain stakeholders, researchers and academia on specific tasks.
APSA is coordinated by Dr. Urutyan and Dr. Aram Asatryan of the Armenian State Agrarian University who was involved in “Sustainability of agricultural production in Armenia – Analysis of the current situation and improvements through farm advice and the facilitation of policy action to adapt framework conditions using the RISE (Response-Inducing Sustainability Evaluation) model” project successfully implemented in Armenia under Dr. Urutyan’s leadership.
